Notes from the Homilies of Fr. Symeon Krayopoulos.
Greetings! While in Panorama, Greece this summer, I had the blessing of listening to many homilies given by Fr. Symeon Krayopoulos, a well known spiritual father in Greece. The series of homilies during the 15 days of August were especially beautiful and I had the blessing of a very good translator for them. So these , of course, are not perfect transcriptions as they are merely notes of a translation, but I hope you will still find them beneficial and inspiring. I am sending them in five segments (as I finish typing them).
With love in Christ,
Elizabeth

God is here with us and for us. We have access to all this endless beauty yet we do not thirst for God. There is so much to draw from God but first we must long for Him. We forget about Him until we are sick or want our needs met. Trials are a blessing. God is able to remove all our trials and difficulties but oftentimes they are beneficial for us as they bring us closer to God. We must be so longing for God that we hurt for God. We are very immature and we miss the point. What we ask of God is so human while God is full of greater things for us.

We must have courage and be strong like St. Timothy. He gave himself completely to God. The same grace that infused the apostles and martyrs is with us today but in our hearts we don't want it. We come to church and talk about God but our heart and our lifestyles say otherwise. A Christian is a soldier. He does not have time to entangle himself with things of this world. All of this life is to prepare us for heaven. This is our time to know Christ. Scriptures speak of Him and we must search them to learn of our dear Savior.
More to come...
